20 ha sustainable ModulAIR greenhouse in South-Australia

Sundrop imageVan der Hoeven Horticultural Projects, based in Den Hoorn, The Netherlands, is currently building a twenty hectare state-of-the-art greenhouse in Port Augusta, South Australia. The principal sponsoring the state-of-the-art greenhouse is Sundrop Farms, a pioneer in sustainable horticulture for the arid world, growing high-value crops using seawater and sunlight.  As the world’s population continues to grow, Sundrop Farms is de-coupling food production from finite resources and relying instead on renewable resources to grow the world’s food industry, not just profitably but also sustainably.  By harnessing the sun’s energy, Sundrop will produce over 15,000 tons of tomatoes in its greenhouse in Port Augusta.  Van der Hoeven is internationally recognized as one of the major players within the turn-key horticultural sector.  Since 1953 we have been designing and realizing high standard, innovative horticultural projects for investors and modern growers all over the world, allowing them to gain the maximum returns from their investment.  Sundrop Farms has found in Van der Hoeven an equal partner to build the greenhouse and we are now 9 months into the construction of the Port Augusta facility.  Have a look at the video to see what the site looked like one month ago: https://lnkd.in/exFDGR5
